What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?

The most memorable and unexpected was the trip down the Ganges. A serene interlude in intense trip. The ruins of Hampi in the south where we stayed in a laid back hotel by the rice paddys and the river bank. The terrace view from our hotel in Udaipur and many more.

Our Response

Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed much of the trip, but your comments on the time in Goa have most definitely been noted. We’ve tried accommodating our groups in both North and South Goa, and we have to say that neither is proving entirely satisfactory, as the true India experience is not really to be found in Goa at all. The thinking behind the time there was simply to provide some relaxation time. But we are actively investigating alternative hotel arrangements.

What Tips Would You Give To Someone Else Booking This Tour

If you are booking then 32 days is a long time but the tour is very varied. Travel on the Indian night trains means 6 berths to a compartment and you may have to share with fellow Indian travellers. But this should be part of the experance, take a sleeping bag liner and get in fully dressed. You can't take 32 days worth of cloths, take one weeks worth and wash and go. Keep any small change you get and it's not all curries.

Do You Have Anything Else To Add

"By not having a Tour Coach, you use local transport,Tuk Tuk's, cycle rickshaws, etc. This means more families have money coming in. You have to people watch, local Indian Trains aways have room for one more!!"
