What Tips Would You Give To Someone Else Booking This Tour
If you are interested in wildlife and want to spendtime inside Chitwan National Park this is not the trip for you. Despite the trip notes stating that your activites will take place inside the park, this really isn't the case. We only had a short walk inside the park - always within sight of buildings and motorbikes, so opportunities to see wildlife were very limited.
What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?
There were many highlights on the tour but for me being so close to the peaks was amazing. The actual views of the forest as you treked was breath taking and made the effort needed to climb worth while. The Everest region was equally beautiful and the views of Everest from the Everest hotel was very good. Finally I was very impressed how hard all the porters and in general all the people on our trek worked carrying astonishing loads on their backs.
How was your Explore Tour Leader?
Our guide was very knowledgeable and well organised and made sure everything went to plan. He was very friendly and was very approachable and good humoured . He also gave some of us who needed it encouragement.
What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?
Get as fit as you can. It might be obvious but the fitter you are the more you will enjoy it. I had not done any training but am relatively youngish so still did but at a slower pace. I would also have liked to see the spring flowers in bloom so go in February if you can for this. Wear a mask as the pollution in Katmandu is very high and you risk getting a infection before you start your trek.
Do you have anything else to add?
I have wanted to go to Nepal for over 10 years , I finally made it and it surpassed all my expectations and more. We had a magical early morning elephant safari moving through the 8 feet elephant grass to track the one horned rhino. The mist made it very beautiful.
