Types of Walking holiday

Our small group Walking holidays get you up close to your destination. We've got trips to suit walkers of all abilities and interests, to destinations all over the world.

On a typical small group walking trip we select the very best walks in a country or region, include any must-see sights along the way and build in some free time to explore by yourself or simply relax. You'll be transported from one destination to the next. 

We also offer two other types of walking holiday; Point-to Point and Centre-Based. Read on to find out more. 

On these holidays you'll walk from one overnight stop to the next and experience a real sense of journey and personal achievement. 

Almost the entire journey on these trips is covered on foot so you'll need to talk part in all the walks. However, if for any reason you aren't up for walking, for example if you're unwell, then your tour leader will be on hand to arrange transport to the next place. Many of the iconic treks follow a Point-to-Point route.

Some of our most popular European walking holidays are centre-based. This relaxed style of holiday involves staying in one place and getting to know the area in more depth. It's very flexible so you can choose to do as many or few of the planned walks as you like. It's a great way to fully explore a particular area and immerse yourself in local life. 

A few of our trips are Twin-Centre holidays, meaning you'll stay in two different properties in contrasting areas and do multiple walks in each of these places.
