  5. North Cyprus
  6. Baltic States
  7. Jordan
  8. Sri Lanka
  9. Antarctica

1. India

Christmas in India is all about eating delicious food, so why not swap your traditional Christmas meal for aromatic Indian cuisine packed with plenty of spices? On our Taste of Southern Indian trip you'll experience Christmas through your taste buds. You'll be introduced to south Indian street food like Masala vada and Bonda, and in Kerala tuck into a traditional vegetarian banquet served on a banana leaf.

On our Golden Triangle tour, you'll mark the final month of the year by exploring Old Delhi by rickshaw followed by watching the sunrise over the Taj Mahal. To experience a completely different culture, India is a brilliant place to go at Christmas.

A banana leaf serves as a plate, holding rice, various curries, chutneys, and papadum. Accompanying dishes and a glass cup are arranged on a wooden table background.

2. Costa Rica

Make the most of dry, hot days and plenty of sunshine on a winter wildlife adventure in Costa Rica this Christmas. Delve deep into cloud forest to spot the emerald-green feathers of resplendent quetzal birds perched high up in the canopy and sleepy sloths hanging out in the undergrowth on our Costa Rica Wildlife Tour. Or feel like an intrepid explorer as you navigate five diverse countries on our Central American Highlights tour.

3. Vietnam

The vast majority of Vietnam is Buddhist – but that doesn’t stop them from celebrating Christmas. In Vietnam, Christmas Eve is a more important celebration than Christmas day. Midnight Mass services are held on Christmas Eve where people go into the centre of Ho Chi Minh City to a Catholic Cathedral.

Celebrate the end of one year and kick-start a new year on our Cycle Saigon to Hanoi tour. As well as pedalling from south to north on two wheels, you'll get to experience a festive Christmas trip packed with loads of adventure. With affordable prices and warmer weather, Vietnam is an excellent option for a Christmas adventure.

4. Morocco

Celebrate Christmas a little out of the ordinary in the vibrant country of Morocco. It makes a popular destination during the festive period, offering local cuisine and cultural dancing. Wander through traditional souks (and pick up a present or two), sip fragrant mint teas and take in the best of Morocco, and spend Christmas Eve in Fes, where you'll drop by the Royal Palace and stop by the North Borj viewpoint for panoramic city views.

Take in more highlights of Morocco on our 9-day tour, where you can spend Christmas camping beneath the stars at a Berber camp on the dunes of Erg Chebbi.

5. North Cyprus

Spend Christmas in Europe with a difference on this eight-day walking tour in Northern Cyprus. In the days leading up to Christmas and on the big day itself, you'll set out on a series of Leisurely and Moderate-graded walks, returning to your hotel each evening, which serves as your comfortable base for the week. Discover flower-rich mountain trails and castle ruins on this idyllic Mediterranean island.

Did you know that all of our trips have a carbon label? This shows the estimated carbon footprint for each trip. We work with Klimate to support verifiable carbon removal projects, which helps lower the concentration of CO₂ in the atmosphere.

6. Baltic States

Home to some of the best Christmas markets in Europe, there's no way we could exclude Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania from this list! Take in each of the Baltic States' capital cities – Vilnius, Riga, Tallinn – on our eight-day discovery trip, and you'll be rewarded with Old Town delights, local produce tastings and stunning medieval architecture.

We also operate a special Christmas Markets departure date for this trip, so if you can't commit to spending Christmas here, you can stock up on gifts and presents!

Celebrate a festive and meaningful cultural Christmas by visiting Madaba, a small town with strong Christian heritage, also known as the "City of Mosaics", and Mount Nebo; referenced in the Old Testament as the place that Moses once stood to look over the Promised Land. On a clear day you'll have views of the Dead Sea, Bethlehem and Jerusalem from Mount Nebo.

For families with kids aged seven or older, consider our Family Jordan, Petra and Desert Adventure. Camp in a beautiful desert area of Wadi Rum for part of the festive period. With guided tours and group dinners, fre time and mosaic workshops, there's plenty of unqiue memories to be made as a family looking for a Christmas adventure.
