Send a Cow

Send a Cow is our long-term charity partner and we’re thrilled to be working with them.

Set up back in 1988, Send a Cow gives African farming families the hope and the means to create a sustainable future from their land. Importantly, Send a Cow also works to tackle barriers to social development such as gender inequality and negative stereotyping to help those most marginalised to thrive.

Mahouts

Mahouts is a UK registered charity working with local communities fostering harmony, patience and peace to protect Asian elephants and, importantly, the communities with which they coexist. Founded by the Blaine family after a life changing trip to Thailand, Explore has worked with Sarah and her family for many years to develop community driven solutions allowing mahouts and elephants to thrive together. You can see first-hand the wonderful work by Mahouts on Explore’s Mahouts Elephant Extension.

Lone Buffalo

Lone Buffalo is a free English project that benefits more than 200 young people living in rural Laos. The ability to speak English makes a huge difference to young peoples’ futures in Laos, and Lone Buffalo is committed to improving the lives of those living in one of the world’s most heavily bombed places. Explore has worked with Lone Buffalo from the very beginning in 2010 and will continue our support as their valuable work is making such a significant contribution to local life.

Born Free

Born Free is an animal charity passionate about wild animal welfare and compassionate conservation. They work tirelessly to stop the exploitation and suffering of animals and campaign for a future where animals and people can coexist for generations to come. Animal welfare is so important to us, so we have partnered with Born Free to create a robust and powerful wildlife policy to ensure our trips are positively contributing to the communities to which we visit.

Derek Moore Foundation

The Derek Moore Foundation was started by the co-founder of Explore to reach socially and economically disadvantaged communities. The foundation provides grants to assist in the development and growth of community projects which promote education or sport, or nurture traditional arts, crafts or music. Together, Explore and The Derek Moore Foundation, will provide support, training and funding to small projects worldwide to help change lives and enrich communities where we visit.
