Big mountains, vast expanses of desert and large volumes of wildlife. If you’re into peak bagging you are spoilt for choice; Kilimanjaro, Meru, Mount Kenya and Toubkal all rest their feet here. The exhilarating feeling of achievement you get when reaching the summit of any of these mighty mountains is hard earned but well worth every muscle-stretching step. For undulating terrain, treks n the Atlas and Simien mountain ranges are all excellent choices or, for an added thrill, try a walking safari, following in the footprints of Africa’s large mammal species. For something completely different, trek in the rainforest and villages of West Africa or in the deserts of Egypt or Jordan. Whatever you choose, you’ll have a rewarding and memorable experience.
