We have always been passionate about photography at Explore. Over the years our staff, tour leaders and customers have captured thousands of remarkable images from countries all over the world, far and near. Many of these now feature in our brochures and website.

Now we are very pleased to announce we are taking our love of photography one step further, with a decision to sponsor the Travel Photographer of the Year competition. Now in its ninth year and fast growing in recognition and popularity, this is regarded as the leading travel photography award.

The Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) is run by photographers for photographers. The competition has several categories, including a beginners' prize and a 'new talent' award. We at Explore are delighted to be sponsoring the Cultures & Traditions category, which fits so well with our kind of travel. Wherever you live in the world, whether you’re an amateur or professional photographer, and whatever age you are, you can enter TPOTY. The competition opens on 10th May. Good luck!

In the Fall TPOTY will be hosting a series of photography and travel events at the Royal Geographical Society in London, with an array of speakers from the overlapping worlds of travel and photography. As well as talks there will be informal, hands-on workshops to help you improve your photographic skills, whatever equipment you use and however experienced you are.
