We can exclusively reveal our involvement in a brand new series for ITV2 ‘The Parent Trip’. We were approached by the Specialist Factual & Arts Dept at ITV studios, who chose us for our local knowledge and expertise in providing authentic and life changing travel experiences.
The Parent Trip takes three personalities and their parents on an adventure of a lifetime, opening their eyes to some of the world’s most extreme locations and fascinating cultures and giving them the opportunity to rediscover each other along the way.
Episode one
The first episode, screening this Thursday 8th April follows celebrity ‘WAG’ and model Abbey Clancy and her mum Karen as they make a tough, and, at times, emotional journey on camel back across the Great Thar Desert in India to perform a dance with a gypsy family at a cattle fair.
Their destination – the Nagaur Cattle Fair in Rajasthan – is a massive livestock fair which transforms the quiet town of Nagaur once a year into a meeting point for semi-nomadic tribes folk in a riot of colour and festivities.

We are also proud to announce that you too can follow in the footsteps of tribes folk and celebrities alike with a 2011 departure of our ‘Land of the Maharajahs’ tour on the 3rd February 2011 where not only will you experience the thrill of riding a camel through the Thar desert, but also the wonderful atmosphere of the Nagaur Fair.
At the end of their parent trip, both Abbey and Karen reveal that they feel closer after such an extreme experience together, which is a feeling shared by many Explore customers after bonding with like-minded travellers on our tours.
