To help you choose an autumn getaway, we thought we would take advantage of the extensive in-house knowledge we have, and put together a list of the top destinations for autumn 2009. So buckle up!
Try walking in southern Europe.
| Now the weather has cooled down a bit, you can really get stuck into your walking. The Mediterranean offers some wonderfully varied terrain and sights, so for walking this autumn, try Greece, Turkey or Mallorca. |
Feel the heat with a Latino beat
| In the Caribbean and Central America, mid October heralds the end of the hurricane season. Golden beaches, lush rainforests and mojitos beckon so turn up the heat and try Cuba, Mexico or Costa Rica for more palm trees than you can shake a stick at! |
Spring time in South Africa
| South Africa– The southern hemisphere’s transition from winter to spring is a great time to visit South Africa – especially in the Cape provinces where the winter grey winter is forgotten as thousands of small, otherwise insignificant plants cover the plains in an iridescent carpet of flowers. Until November is also prime season for humpback and southern right whales which we head out to look for on our Cape Escape and Zululand & Kruger Wildlife tours. |
Saharan seduction
| Autumn in Morocco is one of the best times to visit with cooler temperatures – especially the southern regions of the Sahara and southern slopes of the High and Anti Atlas mountains. This destination is so popular at the moment, we have had to put on extra departures of some tours! Try Imperial Cities & Desert for cultural discovery, Kasbah Trail for gentle walking and exploration or Jebel Sahro Trek for a 9 day trek. |
Beat the crowds – and the prices!
Now is a fantastic time to visit Sri Lanka, Things are looking up since the end of the conflict with the Tamil Tigers in May and undoubtedly prices will be heading in that direction too so travel now whilst everything is still exceptional value.

A World away
| See Indochina (i.e. Thailand, Cambodia, Laos & Vietnam) at their best - after the rains, and as cool at it can get in these generally steamy tropics. Why not take just 6 days off work for a 9 day trip exploring the highlights of Cambodia & Thailand. |
