Hard to say as it was all excellent. If forced to pick, I'd have to go with having lunch up on the ridge with the lightning coming in all around us! Not everyones cup of tea it would appear, but right up my alley. In 2nd place would be running into the Chamois mother and infant during the optional walk. They just froze and we had a one minute stand-off with us all just watching each other, fantastic.
How was your Explore Tour Leader?
Tudor was excellent. Knowledge level on all subjects was fantastic, whether it was birds, walks or just each and every outdoor sport. Had the required ability to click with all 18 members of the group, a tricky skill in itself!
What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?
Be prepared for some hard graft. The trip does say moderate to strenuous, which is fairly accurate, I'd maybe lean towards the strenuous a bit more! Worth it though when you get to the top and see the views. Some of the scrambling is a bit exciting, but as long as you don't suffer from severe vertigo it's not too bad.
Do you have anything else to add?
Clearly I've had no issues with this trip, which is not to say others were the same. Make sure you read all the information available from Explore. The accomodation, especially in the first hut, is about as basic as you can get. Hot and stuffy, with food that not everyone is going to like, (they do have beer though so it's not all bad!). Still, it's better than sleeping outside in -1 deg celcius!
