Tourism boss recommends adventure holiday-makers visit country's interior
People planning hiking holidays should head to the non-coastal areas of Turkey, as the inland regions of the country "suit [these] activities" perfectly
Some places in Turkey that people on hiking holidays may include on their trip include the beautiful mountain Baba Dagi. While walking on and around this rock formation, there are many ancient ruins to stumble across and explore.
Joanna Marsh, the press relations co-ordinator for the United Kingdom branch of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office, said that the country's rocky central regions are ideal for a vast range of different possible activity trips.
"Turkey's mountainous interior suits activities such as mountaineering, white water rafting, trekking and even skiing," she said.
Ms Marsh has previously said that Turkey offers a great amount of diversity to people planning adventure holidays. The country - in both Europe and Asia - is ideal for everything from walking holidays to scuba diving trips.
