Indian city 'shows another face' in the early hours
Waking up in a different country is one of the most amazing things about travelling on solo holidays; the different sights and smells hitting as soon as you open your eyes is an exciting experience.
Rose Mulready, a travel expert and guidebook author, has suggested that one city in India is better than most.
Mr Mulready, who has previously written a guide about the city of Istanbul, put forward the theory that the buzzing metropolis relaxes in the earlier hours, in an article for Lonely Planet online.
"Even if you're not a morning person, opening your eyes in a fresh destination is guaranteed to give an extra kick to your spirits," she said.
"[Mumbai] shows another face at dawn. With the sun rising in a rosy, hazy bubble over the sea, it's time to head to Sassoon Docks to see a fishing scene virtually unchanged for centuries."
One of the top attractions that people on solo holidays in Mumbai can see is the Elephanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
