From the largest to the smallest, the islands are diverse
The Greek islands, from the huge ones like Corfu to smaller ones, offer people planning adventure travel trips a vast range of 'diverse' possibilities.
That is according to the governmental department which aims to direct tourism to the Mediterranean country.
Aggeliki Rouva, a spokeswoman for the Greek National Tourism Organisation, said that the Greek islands have a lot to offer people planning activity trips.
"[They are] endowed with a diverse environment that allows for many sports and activities, from water sports to hiking and trekking in hidden paths in the olive groves to bird watching in protected eco-systems," she said.
She added that many of the islands - especially smaller, relatively-unheard-of ones - are "perfect spots for secluded relaxation", if travellers want to have a rest on their adventure holidays.
Mainland Greece also offers a range of destinations which would be ideal for adventure holidays, such as Olympia, the home of the ancient games.
