Former New Zealand captain offers guidance to travellers
Former New Zealand rugby captain Sean Fitzpatrick has recommended that people travel to the Antipodean island country on hiking holidays for the beautiful vistas that trekkers will be able to see
Mr Fitzpatrick spoke about the country of his birth in an interview with broadcaster Jim White in The Daily Telegraph.
The Tri-Nations winner said that the country is perfect for people looking for hiking holidays and made a suggestion of his own.
"[One] of the best [treks is] the Milford Track, a four-day hike from one coast to the other, stopping in five-star lodges" he said.
He added that people who like to relax while on holiday should visit Marlborough: "This is the wine region where Cloudy Bay comes from," he said. "If you like new-world vintages you're in a paradise of wine and gourmet food."
Cloudy Bay is the name of a sauvignon blanc wine from New Zealand that has taken the United Kingdom by storm in the past few years.
