Spanish island offers hiking holidays and beautiful views
People looking for solo holidays in Spain may wish to visit Mallorca as it offers "the best of both worlds" when it comes to a mix of relaxation and adventure.
Graham Bright, writing in the national newspaper The Scotsman, recommended travelling to the Spanish island and travelling inland for fantastic views.
The writer commented on the sheer number of things to do in Mallorca and the surrounding area, focusing on the beautiful green areas.
He wrote that the place he stayed was a "pastoral idyll … afforded a perfect view of the resilient goats as they foraged for some elusive green shoots.
"Venturing north away from the coast one morning, we drove up the excruciatingly twisty, narrow road to the sanctuary of Sant Salvador … to enjoy the truly breathtaking views of almost the whole island."
People looking for hiking holidays are also well-catered for on Mallorca, as they can trek old merchants' paths through the mountains.
