Visitors can see breathtaking views of the rainforest during their stay, according to a travel writer
Adventure travel in the Amazon Basin is a privilege, according to a travel writer.
Nigel Thompson, writing for the Daily Mirror, recently embarked on a journey deep into the South American jungle and discovered a range of wildlife and sites during his stay.
On his way back to the Peruvian town of Puerto Maldonado, Mr Thompson was encouraged to scale a tower by his tour guide where he could see the surrounding area.
He said: "A short hike brings us to a 100ft steel tower in a jungle clearing. We puff our way to the top to take in the wonderful view over the canopy.
"There are 20,000 species of trees in the Amazon Basin, well, I think they're all here. It's like a glorious green ocean of leaves and I feel privileged to have been on this jungle adventure."
Visitors to the Amazon Basin could follow in Mr Thompson's footsteps and enjoy a spot of fishing or search for the eclectic range of animals located in the region.
