Book a family adventure holiday in 'honest' Zadar

Britons planning to book family adventure holidays in Croatia will be able to discover the honest city of Zadar, according to a travel writer.

Andrew Eames, travel correspondent for the Daily Express' website tripideas.co.uk, expressed his belief that the city has a certain respectability which holidaymakers will enjoy.

He said: "There was something honest and unpretentious about it. The coffee shops seemed animated, fishing boats came and went from the quay, and the market was filled with ladies from outlying islands selling their olive oil and cheese."

Mr Eames added that the town of Nin, located in Zadar, is home to a beautiful cathedral which is "well worth a visit", while guests should also make plans to the vineyards near the Velebit Mountains.

Trekking enthusiasts will no doubt want to explore the Paklenica National Park which features stunning limestone canyons and caves.

Zadar was originally a series of islands which eventually merged together. Zadar County now comprises of 24 large islands and a further 35 which are uninhabited.
