Scenery in the national park is diverse and beautiful
With its stunning natural scenery and proliferation of beautiful wildlife, Torres del Paine National Park, in Chile, is one of the top adventure holiday destinations in the world.
The national park, which is located in the environmentally stunning region of Patagonia, topped Wanderlust magazine's 'ultimate wishlist' of places to visit on holiday.
"If you like your scenery dramatic and fantastical, you can't go far wrong with this national park," a writer for the travel publication said.
"With lakes, waterfalls, glaciers, forests and a profusion of wildlife, the rugged wild outdoor thing is certainly big. The weather-scourged granite massif dominates the landscape, but you'll be distracted by the huge blue icebergs of Lake Grey."
Despite the circuit around the national park being one of the most popular in South America, the travel writer noted that, because there are many trails and also due to the sheer size of the area, "some degree of solitude" is still possible.
