Bangkok in Thailand is home to many different temples
Bangkok, in Thailand, has a "unique treasure trove" of cultural attractions, such as temples and other historic sights, according to the country's promotional body.
The culturally-important sights mean the destination is great for people on adventure holidays who are interested in the history of Thailand.
On its website, the Tourism Authority of Thailand said that the capital city is home to attractions such as the famous temple Wat Po, which is home to an enormous figure of a reclining Buddha.
"Over the last few decades, Bangkok, Thailand's capital city, has changed into a modern, exciting, and sophisticated city," the tourism organisation noted.
"Bangkok offers visitors not only the modern amenities they would expect from other cosmopolitan cities, but also a unique treasure trove of cultural attractions."
The travel authority also noted that Thailand, having never been conquered or colonised, has kept its own "unique culture and heritage" over hundreds of years.
