'Sensational' Egypt has it all for adventure holiday travellers

Sightseeing, weather and people make African destination ideal

Egypt offers everything for the adventure holiday traveller, including "sensational sightseeing", according to an expert.

Travel writer Wendy Gomersall told the Daily Mail about her favourite holiday destination.

"I have been coming to Egypt for 15 years. It is my favourite place - a paradise of sensational sightseeing, sunshine galore and wonderful people," she said.

The travel journalist - who has appeared on radio shows such as BBC's Excess Baggage - noted that now is a great time to visit Egypt, as the government are trying to push tourism numbers up.

She told the news provider: "At the moment, the ancient sites are not so crowded. So there no queuing to get into the most significant tombs or [waiting to] get a seat on the mini-train into the Valley of the Kings."

People planning a trip to Egypt may like to take in the city of Luxor, which is home to West Bank Necropolis (which itself includes the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens).
