European country also offers great opportunities for green travel
People planning solo holidays are still travelling to Switzerland, despite the exchange rate of the Swiss Franc, which is making it more expensive to visit the country.
Urs Eberhard, who is the executive vice-president of markets and meetings for Switzerland Tourism, said that despite this price rise, people are still interested in visiting the country.
"It's becoming more expensive to go to Switzerland than other European countries. So we have to sell the experience, the quality," he noted.
"[Switzerland is] a very aspirational travel destination and [ideal for] green travel."
The European country is a great place for environmentally-conscious Britons to visit, because it is relatively close by. This means either that the plane journey will not take long, or they can get to the destination by other methods.
People visiting the European country can also do so on a hiking holiday, taking in the magnificent scenery of the Bernese Oberland while trekking.
