The Galapagos Conservation Trust is a UK registered charity which raises awareness and funds for a variety of conservation and education projects in the Galapagos. Conservation takes many forms and GCT’s projects cover not only research and conservation of indigenous species but also activities such as renewable energy for the Charles Darwin Research Station and PhD funding for students from the Galapagos; ensuring that the local people themselves can affect the future conservation of the islands.

What we are doing
As visitors, it is imperative that we do our bit in helping to conserve the fragile ecosystem of the Galapagos for future generations. Explore is a corporate member of the Galapagos Conservation Trust and our fee gives a regular income to the organisation’s projects.
What you can do

Whether you are travelling to the Galapagos, have ‘been there, done that’ or still hoping to get there one day, you can join Friends of the Galapagos and receive regular information on their work. Alternatively you can donate to a specific project… even adopt a tortoise!
