Africa’s largest capital, Cairo, is situated mainly on the east bank of the Nile. Cairo is home to the last remaining of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Pyramids and Sphinx.

Every visitor to Cairo should as well as seeing the main sights spend time soaking up the lively atmosphere of Old Cairo, with its narrow cobbled streets and colourful bazaars. Immerse yourself in Arabic culture in Old Cairo, haggle in the bazaars or simply sit back and soak up the lively atmosphere from one of the many coffee shops.

For something different why not visit the Saladin Citadel? A magnificent medieval monument it houses a number of museums and ancient mosques whilst boasting dramatic views across the city or visit the lesser known pyramids –such as the impressive stepped Pyramid of Saqqara and the bent Pyramid of Dashur.
