The Eclipse experience

To witness any type of eclipse is spectacular and Mother Nature doesn’t disappoint in her awesome beauty and wonder of this natural phenomenon. An annular eclipse gives the look of a ring of sunlight around the solar disc, yet a total solar eclipse is a dramatic showpiece as the earth plunges into darkness. You can be guaranteed of one thing - both types never disappoint!

Why book with Explore?

Explore have been eclipse chasing for over 10 years, following these spectacular events all around the world - from China, Russia and Ghana to Libya, Egypt and Easter Island. As Explore operate tours in well over a hundred countries, we are able to arrange our eclipse holidays in the best viewing positions on earth. The best locations for the eclipse will be chosen by our specialist team, based on their expert knowledge. They take into consideration local cloud cover statistics and locate a great viewing spot, and during previous eclipses we have even been able set up camps especially for the occasion.

Expert astronomer/s & guides

Beyond experiencing the excitement of the eclipse as it progresses through its various stages, our tours will also combine an exploration of the country or region of the world you are visiting. Our use of local guides and infrastructure is a very important part of the Explore ethos and something we take great pride in. Many of our eclipse and space tours will also be accompanied by an expert astronomer, who will share their wealth of space knowledge and eclipse viewing tips with you on your tour.

Their contacts worldwide can often allow us access to some of the words best astronomical facilities that no other groups are able to access, plus they will also present lectures on various aspects of astronomy and space as time and the itinerary allow. They are always accessible during the tours to answer any questions you may have.
